Here’s something you may or may not know about me. I’m a Crossfitter. I still remember how bizarre the gym (also known as a Box) looked when I first stepped in. There were no machines, no treadmills or ellipticals. What I did find were these cage looking structures, dumbbells, rowers and huge rubber weighted plates. As I sat there, staring, I felt kind of intimidated because I was not sure what to expect. Then, came the demo class. I thought I was in shape since I was training for a half marathon and going to a gym. Wrong! After the demo class, I was sore for days. However, I wanted more. It’s been 2 years since my introduction. Since then, I’ve grown stronger, I’m more energetic and feel healthier. So what is Crossfit? It’s a programmed high intensity workout that pushes your body and mind to its limits. It’s never getting bored with the same workout routine. It’s a group of people who feel your pain and cheer you on as you struggle.
Here are some pics that will give you a glimpse of what it’s all about. If you are interested in checking it out contact Gene or Tiffani at Foundry Crossfit (http://www.foundrycrossfit.com).
